What is the difference between a Midmark 622 and 623 exam table model?
The Midmark 622 is a power up and down exam table and the Midmark 623

Upholstery Care and Maintenance
All disinfectants and cleaning agents contain chemicals that degrade your table upholstery
to some extent. It is our goal to give you guidance that supports a long product life. Your
Midmark Upholstery will provide your facility years of service if you follow these guidelines:
003-2676-99 Rev. AA2 (6/7/18)
Wash your upholstery weekly using mild liquid soap and water mixture. Rinse
with clear water. Dry completely to remove disinfection cleaner build-up.
Disinfect upholstery as recommended by the CDC using a solution of standard
bleach and water mixed 1-10 (10%)…
Notes:See current CDC Guideline for Disinfection & Sterilization in Healthcare Facilities.
For your convenience, you may wish to purchase a premixed disinfectant. Midmark’s
current list titled Suggested Premixed Disinfectants for Upholstery (U.S.A.) is
available on midmark.com in our technical library in the additional information section
or call 1-800-MIDMARK.
To minimize disinfectant/cleaner residue build-up (which can cause discoloration,
cracking, blisters, peeling, etc.), do not allow disinfectants to pool on the upholstery
surface. Once the recommended contact time has been obtained, remove and dry
excess liquid remaining on the surface. We recommend that you wipe all surfaces
with a clean, damp cloth daily.
Use the following procedure to effectively clean your upholstery:
A) Position the table in a flat position.
B) Disinfect upholstery per the disinfectant/cleaner’s instructions.
C) Rinse with clear water.
D) Wipe with a clean towel or cloth.
Equipment Alerts
Certain products containing quaternary ammoniums may cause discoloration.
Midmark has tested some and found that those recommended in ‘Suggested Premixed
Disinfectants for Upholstery’ are compatible with our upholstery. It is not advised to use
other quaternary ammonias on our products.
To identify if a disinfectant contains “quat” type chemistries, check the label for active
ingredients. Most will contain the words ammonium chloride including the following:
quaternary ammonium chloride, ammonium chloride, dimethyl ammonium chloride,
dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride, and dimethyl ethyl benzyl ammonium chloride.
General housecleaning products may also contain “quats”. After hours cleaning crews
must inspect the active ingredients in the products they use and discontinue their use on
these soft vinyl materials.

Equipment Alerts
Do not mix disinfectants/cleaners.
Make sure to thoroughly wash and dry all surfaces when switching between disinfectants/cleaners to prevent adverse chemical reactions that could cause
permanent damage to your upholstery.

Make sure upholstery is completely dry before applying paper.
90% Water 10% Bleach. This information is not a guarantee and does not
relieve the user from the responsibility of proper and safe use of the
product and all cleaning and disinfecting agents.

The use of certain agents can be harmful to the surface appearance
and lifespan of the material. Midmark accepts no liability for
discoloration or damage of upholstery fabrics caused by the
use of unapproved cleaning/disinfectant products or methods.

Protect all surfaces from writing instruments that may leave permanent marks
and substances that may cause permanent staining…

Note:Includes substances used during procedures like iodine-based antiseptics. In the
event contact of these substances with the table upholstery occurs, minimize
staining utilizing the following technique:
A) Immediately remove any fluids spilled on the upholstery by blotting with a clean
cloth or paper towels.
B) Do not wipe the surface with an alcohol based product which can spread the stain.
C) Use 10% bleach and 90% water mixture described in this document.
